My reporting on Connected Nation won Second Place for In-Depth Reporting in 2009 from Capitolbeat, the association of state capitol reporters and editors.

“Copywrong,” about the impact of copyright laws on local artists, musicians and documentary filmmakers, won the Media & the Law Award from the North Carolina Bar Association in 2005.

I have won several awards from the North Carolina Press Association, including feature writing and news coverage (which I shared with my news colleagues).
